Our 2024 summer show will be

Priscilla Queen of the Desert!

Theatrecraft Herne Bay are back again at the Kings Hall to delight audiences with their version of the worldwide award-winning musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert. It tells the story of three friends, Tick, Bernadette, and Adam, a glamorous Sidney-based performing trio who agree to perform a drag show at a resort in Alice Springs, a resort town in the remote Australian outback. As they head west from Sydney aboard their battered, old, bus, Priscilla, searching for love and friendship in their own way, they end up finding more than they ever imagined.
At the helm is director Cheryl Marksford who brought Theatrecraft Herne Bay’s accolade winning production of Made in Dagenham to the very same theatre. “This is such a joyous show to direct. Of course, it is packed to the rafters with hit after hit, but the story also has real substance. It tackles issues that humans have been dealing with for years with sensitivity and humour. Regardless of gender or sexuality these are issues that affect all of us either directly or indirectly. There are some absolutely amazing one liners in this show. You will leave the theatre crying with laughter, singing the tunes, and feeling totally uplifted. I wouldn’t be surprised if you watched it more than once!
So, brace yourself for the most fabulous journey of the year! From 17th to 20th July 2024, join us at the Kings Hall for “Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical”! With more glitz and glamour than Herne Bay has ever seen, a dazzling array of outrageous costumes and the ultimate sing a long dance floor favourites including “It’s Raining Men,” “Hot Stuff,” “Go West,” “Boogie Wonderland”, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and “I Will Survive” this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of FABULOUS!
You didgeridoo not want to miss out!
